The IOM-UNDP Joint Global Programme on Making Migration Work for Sustainable Development (M4SD), funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, aims to harness the development benefits and reduce the negative effects of migration for host and home communities, migrants and their family members. M4SD is implemented in 11 countries, including Senegal, where initiatives were led by local leaders and local governments in three regions: Saint Louis, Sédhiou and Diourbel. M4SD supports Regional Development Agencies to empower approximately 70 local community members and returning migrants, including women and youth, through technical and financial support for small business owners and job seekers, especially in green jobs and sustainable agricultural sectors, with a specific approach to engage and work with the diaspora and private sector.
