On the 13th of November 2010 during the consultative and interactive meeting organized by Generation Initiative For Women and youth network for Imo State Youths held at Fisherman Plaza ,Awaka Owerri Imo State. These are pictures of the sickle cell group which meets monthly at the Fantsuam Foundation. The group is supported by nurse counsellors and they learn how to manage the disease and its effects on their children. They are also developing as advocates to raise awareness about the disease and influence local health policy to ensure sickle cell disease care pathways are integrated into health services in the area.
