Outputs:

4 Reports analisy on Italian territories on migration, 3 in Senegal; 2 Simposyum on migration and Development in Milan and Dakar; Creation of a network of institutional, professional, and non-governmental stakeholders, through traditional and multimedia tools; Opening of a public call and involvement of the public institutions in the process of raising awarness and selection of most valuable project proposals; start-up of 10 co-development pilot projects in Senegal.

Lessons learned:

The strategic involvement of the entire community of migrant associations; The role of public Institutions not only as co-financing bodies but also as promoters and implementing actors in the initiative.

Main objectives

1) Raising awarness on migrant co-development opportunities; 2) To have an improved knowledge on migrant associations in the italian territories involved; 3) Promoting the involvement of local public institutions in trans-national co-development initiatives; 4) Supporting the start-up of co-development pilot initiatives in Senegal; 4) Strenghtning the network of professional stakeholders involved in co-development initiatives

Main activities

The project has been organised in 3 main component through which activities were implemented: 1) RESEARCH: a)Realisation of 4 report analysis in 4 main localities in the Regions of Lombardia and Piemonte as well as 3 in Senegal on pivotal elements in local relations. b) Simposium in Milan and Dakar, for the presentation per la presentazione dei risultati e per mettere in evidenza le potenzialità economiche del mercato italo-senegalese 2) NETWORK The creation of the network aims at strenghtning relations among: a) migrants, their associations, and local economic stakeholders; b) local institutions and associations; c) entrepreneurial associations involved in bilateral activities. 3) SUPPORT TO CO-DEVELOPMENT- PILOT INITITATIVES: Projects have been implemented in the field of a) migrant enrtepreneurship and b) social initiatives. a) Business activities focused on senegalese companies, joint italian/senegalese companies, and italian companies lead by migrants and running activites in Senegal.b) Social activities focused on the territories of origin in the field of education, health, small infrastructures, etc... 10 Pilots have been supported and have seen a follow-up after the completion of the project.

The entire community of migrant associations in the Municipailities of Milano, Bergamo, Torino, and Brescia Direct Beneficiaries: 32.000 Indirect Beneficiaries (information campaign) : 60.000
