Magdy Martinez Soliman was interviewed about the refugee situation in Europe. Soliman explains that it is possible to solve the current refugee situation. According to Soliman, it is necessary to remember that refugees are people, who are fleeing from situations with conflict, insecurity, bad governance and no future prospects, i.e. it is understandable that refugees are going to Europe. However, the situation needs to be managed, so the European societies can cope with the new situation.

On September 26th, UNDP Assistant Administrator and Director (Bureau for Policy and Programme Support) Magdy Martínez-Solimán gave an interview to the Danish Radio DR during which he spoke about the refugee crisis in Europe. He explained that there is a way to solve the current situation and reminded us that it should not be forgotten  that refugees are people who are fleeing from conflict, insecurity, bad governance and no future prospects. It is therefore understandable that they seek refuge in Europe. In order for the European societies to cope with the phenomenom, the situtation however needs to be tackled with proper management.
