The Second Global Mayoral Forum took place in Quito, Ecuador from November 12-13, 2015 and gathered 86 Mayors, City Representatives and members of International Organisations. The overarching theme of this Forum was centred on the role of local government in implementing the migration-related targets in the context of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.   • Main outcome document

To build on the momentum since the adoption of the SDGs and the role of decentralized levels of government in implementing it, the Quito Global Mayoral Forum delivered a road map entitled the Quito Local Agenda on Migration and Development, which was signed by all mayors and local leaders present. This document highlights the key role of local and regional authorities in implementing the migration-related indicators of the SDGs, indicates where additional resources are required, and supplements existing regional and international initiatives.
