The conference ‘Global Village 2012 – The Inaugural International Conference on Diaspora-Homeland Partnerships’ is organized by the Ministry of Public Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Israel, in partnership with the Center for International Migration and Integration and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee.
This international conference seeks to bring together experts from diasporas worldwide with a view to examine the motivation of diasporas to help their homelands and the tools required to increase the capacity and effectiveness of their contributions. Through plenary sessions, workshops, discussions, site visits and an array of case studies from Israel and other countries, the conference will present the evolving nature of the homeland-diaspora relationship in philanthropy, investment, diplomacy and knowledge-exchange. The conference is designed for Ministers and governmental officials responsible for diaspora affairs, diaspora organizations, international organizations and professionals working in the field of migration and development.
