Vacancy For an Internship At D18 To Work On The Radio1812 Project
December 18 – D 18 – is the international advocacy and resource centre on the human rights of migrant workers. We promote an approach to migration policies that is based on existing international and regional human rights instruments and mechanisms.
Interns play an important role in the projects and ongoing work of December 18. They are offered an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the different facets of working in an international NGO that is active at the international as well as the European level.
The intern will primarily participate in the implementation of the fifth edition of the Radio1812 initiative, a global radio marathon organised by D18 on International Migrants Day. It aims to bring together radios from around the world over one day to produce, broadcast and share programmes on migration and it helps connecting migrant communities worldwide in an effort to highlight their concerns and celebrate their achievements.
Specific tasks include
Assisting with the promotion of events related to International Migrants Day
Assisting with the outreach to radio stations, migrant organisations
Updating of the Radio 1812 site
Assisting with the producing of reportage and radio programme
Assisting with the implementation of the PR and communications strategy (Promote the Radio 1812 and the December 18 sites through the use of internet tools)
Educational background in the communications and international migration field
Strong interest in radio / media events and migration issues
Good organizational skills
Very good level of French and English
Working knowledge of other EU languages (preferably Italian ) and/or Arabic is an asset
Able to work independently.

The unpaid internship is full time and is carried out at the December 18 office in Brussels.
