The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Liaison Office in Brussels provides opportunities for young graduates to undertake an internship at the EC-UN Joint Migration and Development Initiative (JMDI). The JMDI is looking for three full-time interns to join its team starting end of January (1) and end of February (2) for a duration of 6 months.
The Programme Officer will work in close collaboration with the Officer in charge of the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) within the Migration and Development Section. Her/his main tasks will be:
The selected consultant will work under the supervision of the Head of the Programme Management Unit (PMU) and in close coordination with the Knowledge Management Expert, the JMDI Brussels-based Programme Management Unit contact persons for each target country and the focal points based in the 16 target countries. Furthermore, the Consultant will work in close coordination with another Consultant already hired and working on the codification process under the programme.
The Moldovan Government has set as one of its priorities the development of policies and initiatives aimed at outreaching to Moldovan Diaspora and labour migrants, be they temporarily or permanently established abroad. In this context, the World Bank and IOM will jointly carry out a research focusing on the Russian/CIS migration corridor and specifically on its differential migration regime and remittance-sending patterns as well as the poverty impact of the economical crisis on families of migrants left behind in Moldova.
Under the direct supervision and guidance of the Head of the Policy & Programme Support Unit at IOM Brussels, the incumbent will undertake administrative follow-up and research on project development activities, and more specifically:
