Description of Initiative

Main objectives: 

The main objective is to reinforce the multi-actor dialogue and practices on the migration-development nexus between North and South and to build a pool of common, independent knowledge on migration and development related issues.

Main activities: 

The project will: map migration and development projects which have been carried out in the Kayes Region of Mali over the last 40-50 years and codify good practices, developing new research tools and methodologies to do so.Moreover it will broker new partnerships and strengthen existing networks linking migrant associations and local authorities in France with their counterparts in the Kayes region; disseminate results and good practices through the network and through the local and national media in Mali and France.

Main beneficiaries: 

Malian migrants in France, local authorities in France and the Kayes region of Mali, and NGOs working on migration and development in France and Mali.
