Associations migrantes, associations villageoises: une mise en réseau pour un développement local et solidaire au Maroc

The project is starting implementation just now.
The project aims at enhancing the quality and relevance of local development actions conducted in partnership by migrant associations in France and rural associations in Morocco (especially in the rural areas of the country with the highest emigration rates).
It sets out to do so by strengthening civil society organizations in both countries and creating or reinforcing networks interlinking them. Ultimately, the strengthened organizations should become acknowledged interlocutors of the public institutions, thereby watching over local governance from a civil society perspective. Besides the training and capacity-building components, the associations would also be brought together in international networks, which would also include other European organizations and Sub-Saharan associations (mainly from Mali and Senegal). The whole experience would be documented and disseminated.
The direct beneficiaries of the project would be 17 rural associations in Morocco; 22 leaders from these associations who would take part in a 1-year-long theoretical and practical course on project management and relevant themes; and 14 migrant associations in France who are members of IDD. Indirectly, entire rural communities, as well as the development organizations working with them, would benefit.
